I’ve been wondering about this quote, if whether Churchill was referring to an even bigger idea much beyond politics. I strongly believe so…I think he refers to the natural rebellious state and emotional characteristics of the younger generation who have a “heart”. Therefore, they care and put turbulent emotions above other things in what they do. This also means that the older (experienced) people should have a good reasoning/mentality of things for they have a “brain”. So this brings me to the question…if the great majority of the youth (high-school kids who are in the middle of maturing) act with their “heart”, does this mean that they lack the “brain”?
I don’t remember the exact words he used, but I’ll just rephrase with the main idea being nearly intact.

I’m sorry if I offend some of you, but I’ve been wanting to say this and have some feedback on your opinions about teen pregnancies. I’m not saying the 50’s and 60’s were the best, but back then people took marriage and love a lot more seriously than today. Of course there were some girls who still got pregnant, but they felt a deep shame and did not want to be seen by the public. Nowadays, I see girls running around with their bellies or showing people their ultrasound pictures of their baby. Like if it was no big deal. And then this one time i had this pregnant girl talk to my summer class about her and her partner. She came twice, the first time she said they were in love, he was going to take care of the child, etc. 3 weeks later she was saying how much she hated him…in all my 20 years of teaching I’ve only seen one sexually active couple who actually had a family and succeeded in a good marriage….
….Also, the music today is terrible, teens listen to all these songs from rap, hip-hop, etc. without knowing/caring about the lyrics! Back then, well at least I, listened to the words of every song….

George: “Love…Carmen you’re not allowed to use that word…Carmen you are 15!”

“Look you’re not going to want to hear this, but I’m going to say it anyways. You just had a high-school break-up and months from now you’ll forget about it and you’ll move on.”
